Bắt chảo lên bếp, khi chảo nóng cho dầu ăn vào, thêm củ hành tím và tỏi đã băm nhiễn vào phi thơm. Khi củ hành tím và tỏi đã được phi vàng, cho mực đã ướp gia vị vào xào.
Khi mực xào săn lại, bỏ cà rốt vào xào trước rồi lần lượt các rau củ quả khác.
Nêm nếm gia vị vừa ăn. Khi mực và rau củ chín thì rắc thêm chút tiêu và vài cọng ngò lên trên để tăng thêm mùi vị cũng như tạo màu sắc đẹp mắt.
