Excellent daily resource.

Excellent Saint book for children. We read each day’s entry at the dinner table each night. I think the kids would prefer if each saint had a picture but that doesn't Really bother me. I love that there is truly a saint/holy day for each day, instead of just some of the major ones.

SAINTS FOR YOUNG READERS FOR EVERY DAY, VOL.I: January - June.

A recent purchase, I am enjoying this with the Franciscan Sister with whom I share an apartment; I'm a Sister of Mercy, and we pray Morning & Evening Prayer together daily, so often share these stories, which are relatively short, simple, and to the point about the particular saint for that day. I ordered it because I happened to find its companion, SAINTS FOR YOUNG READERS FOR EVERY DAY, Vol. 2: July - December, at a garage sale, and was delighted with the format. These "Lives of the Saints" are well written and concise, but composed in such a way as to draw the interest of Young People. I am delighted that they usually end with some action or decision for you to make in imitation of the saint for the day!

Exactly what I was looking for!

This book was exactly what I have been looking for! The kids and I like to read about the saint of the day, and this book is perfect. The daily entries have good information, easy to read to kids, without being dumbed down.

Easy read

Great for young children, teaching them about the Saints. My grandchildren love them.

Saint for grades 3-8

Best Saints Book for grades 3-8. One page, 3-6 paragraphs. Some saintshave black and white depictions. Not every Saint, but very complete.

Short bios and wonderful ideas for living the virtues

The book has a saint for each day, with a biography that takes only a few minutes to read. After the biography, there is a point to reflect on regarding a virtue that the saint particularly excelled in or regarding a situation this saint encountered in his or her life. One of our daughters started reading this out loud to her younger brother and sister in the evening after the lights went out and I love this tradition. It introduces the childern to the saints of our faith. What I really like is that the reflecting points, from time to time, mention contemporary items like computers, videos, and stereos, so they are not staid. The suggestions are wonderful, instructing the reader on how to live a certain virtue and asking for the saint to help the reader with their daily struggle in this area or that area. I have seen many "Saint of the Day" books for kids and this is the best set of books (Vols.1-2). Great for First Communion gifts.

Saints for Young Readers Volume 1

Please note when purchasing this book that Vol. 1 covers saints feast days January through June and vol. 2 covers saint feast days July through December. Aside from those differences the books are the same. Each volume have approx. 1 page of information about a given saint applying it the life of a child. Each day associates something about a given saint when they were young, sometimes drawing attention to things the saint did that would make young people admire the saint. There are also a few lines at the end of each saint day that offers good moral thinking for the day. This book uses many saints that are not commonly known which expands the scope of a young readers knowledge of their Catholic faith. RO [...]
